Goals

  • Investigating the mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes with a comprehensive approach, including glucose metabolism, insulin secretion, and islets
  • Providing  important insights into planning new therapeutic approaches to counter and/or prevent the development of diabetes
  • Transferring research experience in the clinical practice, with a deeper insight into how research can concretely improve the daily medical practice on patients
