Albert Renold Fellowships for Young Scientists
These Fellowships are available throughout the year.
There is no deadline for submission.
The Albert Renold Fellowships for Young Scientists will enable young scientists to travel and stay at other
institutions in order to learn different scientific techniques. If the applicant is not currently working in Europe,
the visit must be to an institution within Europe. The duration of the stay should not exceed 3 months.
Each Fellowship is in the sum of up to Euro 6,000. The EFSD Albert Renold Fellowship Programme is supported by
an unrestricted educational grant from Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD).
The following regulations will apply:
Applications may be made by any paid-up member of EASD under the age of 35 years (PhD) or 40 years (MD/PhD with
clinical training) on 1 January in the year of the award. Applications must be received a minimum of 3 months
before the date of proposed travel.
The application should include:
- Full name, address, date of birth and brief curriculum vitae of the applicant
- Proof of current EASD Membership
- Statement of how the visit will benefit the applicant and his/her department with regard to new clinical and
research techniques (1 side A4 maximum)
- Date and nature of present appointment held by applicant
- Letter of recommendation by the Head of the Department
- Letter from the host institution describing the objectives of the stay
- Budget details
